What Saint Augustine jobs actually look like

  • Downtown historic streets — St. George, Cordova, Aviles — are narrow, brick, and often one-way. We stage on a cross street and hand-carry rather than risk a curb or a wall.

  • Historic homes mean plaster walls, heart-pine floors, and stairwells built before modern furniture. We pad, blanket, and disassemble instead of forcing a turn.

  • Anastasia Island and Vilano Beach jobs get salt-air-rusted appliances and grills that need careful handling on the way out.

  • World Golf Village and the 32092 corridor are newer HOA neighborhoods with posted work hours and guard-gate check-in we plan around.

Working in the St. Augustine historic district

Downtown St. Augustine is the hardest place we work, and it's the reason a lot of crews quote it high or refuse it. St. George, Cordova, Aviles and the lanes around them are narrow, frequently one-way, partly brick, and lined with buildings older than the state. A 26-foot box truck simply does not belong on some of them.

So we plan differently: we stage on a cross street or an approved loading spot, hand-carry with dollies and blankets, and protect door jambs and plaster before anything moves. Homes built before modern furniture existed have stairwells and turns that today's sectionals were never designed to pass, which means we disassemble rather than force. It takes longer. It also means you don't pay for a repair afterward.

Where St. Johns County loads actually end up

Every load gets sorted before disposal. Furniture in genuinely usable condition goes to local donation partners; appliances, metal bed frames, grills and water heaters go to a scrap recycler; clean wood and cardboard are separated when the volume justifies it. Only what has no other route is disposed of through St. Johns County's solid waste system, including the Tillman Ridge facility.

St. Johns County also runs residential convenience centers for household drop-off if you'd rather haul it yourself — worth checking current hours and accepted items first, because a wasted trip costs more than the fee. Certain items never belong in a regular load anywhere in Florida: paint, fuel, propane tanks, pesticides, car batteries and electronics all have separate household hazardous waste and e-waste routes.

Anastasia Island, Vilano Beach and the coast

Beachside St. Augustine jobs come with their own pattern. Salt air rusts appliances, grills and tools from the inside, so items that look donatable often aren't sound. Driveways off A1A are short and shared, parking is metered or restricted in season, and a lot of the housing stock is stilted, meaning the first flight of stairs is the whole job.

We quote those conditions upfront instead of discovering them at the curb. Send a photo of the driveway along with the pile and the number we give you already accounts for the carry.

World Golf Village, 32092 and the newer HOA neighborhoods

The 32092 corridor — World Golf Village, Murabella, Silverleaf and the newer developments along International Golf Parkway — is the fastest-growing part of the county, and almost all of it sits under an HOA with posted work hours, guard-gate check-in, and rules about trailers sitting at the curb.

Tell us the gate and community name when you request a quote and we'll get on the visitor list ahead of time rather than idling at a callbox. These neighborhoods generate a specific mix of work: garage cleanouts a year or two after move-in, playsets and trampolines the kids outgrew, and construction leftovers from a lanai or flooring project.

Moving between St. Augustine and Jacksonville

The I-95 run between St. Johns and Duval is routine for us, in both directions. That covers full household moves, apartment and dorm moves near Flagler College, single heavy items like a safe or a treadmill, and marketplace pickups where you bought the furniture but have no way to get it home.

Because we quote flat, the drive time is our problem rather than a meter running while we sit in bridge traffic. You approve one number that covers the labor, the transport and the disposal of whatever isn't coming with you.
